I'm Buffey Wright Bourassa. I bring more than a decade of public service, Tribal leadership, and community advocacy to my campaign for Mendocino County 3rd District Supervisor. Born and raised in Mendocino County, I've spent my career working across departments and communities to strengthen public safety, support recovery, expand economic opportunity, and build respectful partnerships with Tribal Nations.
My commitment is simple: listen to residents, bring people together, and deliver practical solutions that improve quality of life for local families. With integrity, accountability, and collaboration, I'm ready to serve.

September is a busy one, District 3 — and I hope to see you out there!
From Laytonville to Round Valley to Willits, this month's calendar reflects how I believe a supervisor should campaign — and how a supervisor should serve. Not from behind a desk, but at the farmers market, the Grange breakfast, the Labor Day picnic, the fundraiser for a neighbor in need, and the council and advisory meetings where decisions about our roads, our water, our safety, and our small businesses actually get made.
These gatherings are where the real conversations happen. They're where I hear directly from families, business owners, and neighbors about what's working, what isn't, and what District 3 needs from county government. Every one of these conversations shapes the work ahead.
One date to circle: the Candidate Forum on Saturday, September 20 at Little Lake Grange in Willits. It's your chance to hear from the candidates directly, ask the hard questions, and decide for yourself who listens, shows up, and gets results.

With 12+ years of experience in Mendocino County government, Buffey brings hands-on experience in budgeting, fiscal oversight, program management, and responsible stewardship of public funds; including grant funding, forecasting, expenditure monitoring, and compliance.
Leadership
Through my leadership, I've built strong working relationships with tribal governments, community partners, and federal agencies—giving me a unique understanding of intergovernmental processes, tribal sovereignty, and community-driven solutions.
